The Future of Indigenous Business Banquet, now in it's fourth year is UMICS' premier and most anticipated event!
The event aims to bring both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous business students together with faculty, staff, administration, elders, and members of the business community together in a collaborative and positive environment. By 2034, 20% of Manitoba's population will be Indigenous. We want to build a conversation around what exciting opportunities lie ahead for Manitoba as our Indigenous population grows. It's the responsibility of our local business community to understand and action the TRC's Calls to Action and we hope to facilitate meaningful conversations around this. Topics can include community and economic development, entrepreneurship, reconciliation, among many others.
The evening will commence with cocktail and networking hour at 5:00pm with the formal dinner program beginning at 6:00pm. We will have greetings from The Honourable Ralph Eichler, Minister of Economic Development and Training, the Dean of the Asper School of Business, and remarks from UMICS and Jessica Dumas, event emcee and past keynote as well as Chair of the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
Our panelists will use their individual experiences and expertise to share their truths and perspectives on a variety of Indigenous opportunities, filtered through a vey actionable business lens. We will allow audience members to submit questions virtually and aim to have the discussion be as interactive as possible.
