Is there a dress code in Asper?

No! Although some professors encourage business professional dress for presentations, you don’t need to wear that everyday – unless you want to! Wear what you’re comfortable in to class. For events, be sure to check your ticket for information on suggested attire.

What are Office Hours?

Professors will often set aside time for “office hours”, which are periods that professors make themselves available for meetings with students. Students are encouraged to ask any course specific questions they have during this time. Office hours are not mandatory to attend; however, they can be a great resource!

The CSA also offers “office hours”, though they are far less formal than any academic hours! During this time, the CSA Office (Room 144 of the Drake Centre) is open for students to drop in, buy merch, study, eat lunch, or just hang out! Typical office hours are 10:00am-2:30pm – be sure to check out @AsperCSA on Instagram for updated hours each semester.

Who can I speak to when I have questions about my courses?

Asper’s academic advisors are always available to answer any questions you may have! Check out this link to book an appointment with an advisor.

Where can I get lunch near the Drake Centre?

The Snack Exchange, Asper’s new cafe, is now open on the 2nd floor of the Drake Centre! Check it out for coffee, snacks, and hot & cold lunch options! If you’re up for a walk, University Centre is about 5 minutes from the Drake Centre and has plenty of food options, including Subway, AFV Kitchen, Degree’s, and more!

What is a Co-Op?

Asper’s Co-Op program is an experiential learning program where students are paired with employers for work terms, also known as “Co-Op terms”. For three semesters in their degree, instead of taking classes, co-op students will work at one of many companies who take part in the program. For more details, check out this link
